Good morning, friends! Happy Small Business Saturday.
I know the word “small business” gets thrown around a lot - but we truly are a SMALL business. It’s really just the two of us: Michael and Caroline, partners in life, parenthood and business.
The day before Thanksgiving I said to Michael, “I really hope that next year, we’ll have our BFCM strategy in place ahead of time, so we don’t have to execute in real time”. And here we are, as I’m writing this at 9.15 PM on Friday the 29th. Yup, just a few hours ago.
We’re so passionate about the work that we do - helping people build deeper relationships with one another - and even themselves - is really a dream come true. And our mission of spreading empathy and fighting divisiveness is more important than ever.
But it’s not always easy. It’s a lot of long days, and nights, and weekends, too. Like many of your favorite small brands and gift shops, we make most of our revenue during the holiday season, so we’re feeling *a healthy amount* of pressure.
So, shop with your values this season! And I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t also say: We’re a small, Black-owned, family-run business, and our Black Friday Sale is still going strong, with up to 40% off.
