Key features of MaxRewards
MaxRewards takes the guesswork out of credit card rewards. The paid version of the app—called MaxRewards Gold—offers the following features:
Automatic activation of merchant offers
If you look in your credit card app, you’ll see a section on merchant offers. These offers are limited-time promotions that can help you earn cash back or even extra points at a specific retailer.
Usually, you have to activate the offer manually. But MaxRewards Gold automatically enrolls you in all eligible merchant offers on your card, saving you time and effort and ensuring you don’t leave any rewards on the table.
Benefits tracking
Many credit cards come with use-it-or-lose-it statement credits that expire on a monthly, semi-annual, or annual basis. It can be hard to keep track of what perks each card offers and whether or not you’ve used a particular credit before it expires.
The Benefits section lists all the statement credits your cards offer, shows you which ones you’ve used and which ones are outstanding, and how much time you have left before the perk expires.
Best Card recommendations
Ever wonder what card to use on a specific purchase? The Best Card section uses your phone’s location to make recommendations on which card will earn you the most points at nearby retailers. It also highlights any available merchant offers!
Reward and spend insights
Curious about how much you’re earning in certain categories, like 4% on dining or groceries? The Insights feature breaks down your personal spending and shows you the rewards you’re earning on each purchase. This feature helped me ensure I was using the right card each time.
Bonus trackers
This section tracks your progress toward earning a card’s signup bonus, showing how much you’ve spent already and how much you have left to go.
Monitor outstanding balances, bills, and credit scores
The Home tab syncs with your credit card accounts to monitor all your credit card bills in one spot. It shows your outstanding balances, upcoming due dates, autopay statuses, and credit scores.
Recurring charges
MaxRewards displays all recurring bills on your linked cards in one convenient location. It’s a great way to track subscriptions—and rediscover ones you might have forgotten about!
