Today is Martin Luther King Junior Day and Inauguration Day, and here I am at work, all alone, while my beloved team rests for the holiday. I’m busy packing your orders—surprised to see me doing it? Yes, we’re still that small.
As I take a moment to look around our shipping and receiving room, I can’t help but glance into our beautiful, shiny production area. I peek into our neatly organized ingredient storage and then settle at my desk, where a wave of emotions washes over me.
Gratitude. Pride. Peace.
I feel so proud of us and so thankful for this incredible journey. Meow Meow Tweet has gifted me with so much: a creative outlet that resonates with my values, challenges me, and brings joy to life. It has given me the flexibility to be present for my loved ones while pursuing what I love. I’ve learned and grown as a leader and a problem solver through this venture. I’ve had the privilege to bring simple pleasures to others through their skin and senses. We’ve created so much together, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who has played a part in this journey. Like all meaningful endeavors, this one thrives on collaboration.
I know many founders reflect on gratitude when they’re saying goodbye, but rest assured, this isn't a farewell note. We’re still here, forging ahead, navigating how to remain small, mighty, and full of delight in this strange and difficult world.
This moment at my desk brought tears to my eyes, and I felt compelled to share it with you. It’s important to recognize the good shit, you know?
