Hope you had a lovely week. As always, I’m going to
Wrap-Up this week’s best happenings for your 60 second reading pleasure.
This week I found myself going down a bit of a rabbit hole on
this winemaker. Grew up around generations of winemaking in
Alsace, disappeared off to carve out his own path and somehow landed making some of Mornington's
most talked-about Chardonnay. It's almost gone, so get on it. While you're at it,
grab this one too. Wouldn't sit this one out.
There are two kinds of people: people with wine already waiting at home and people
panic-buying on the way to dinner. If you're the second one, Broc's
sorted you out. Three bottles he'd happily walk through someone else's front door holding himself.
Keep these tucked away. One less thing to think about.
This
producer's name might sound familiar. They happen to make one of our
top sellers, which means their
other bottles are living slightly in the shadows. Shame, because if you've had the
Falanghina, you already know they're onto something. Honeysuckle, stone fruit, texture and bright acid all
packed in here. Busy little thing.
Our latest
obsession is with this
underrated variety. One for the red fans out there. Slight jammy richness. Bright, herby. Great nose on it. Get your snooter in there.
No reason not to.Got a good laugh out of this one—we had someone comment this week saying our
Pick 'n' Mix looked
suspicious. Fair enough. I'll take "too good to be true" as a compliment! Truth be told, we've added some incredible
new producers to the lineup. If you're due for a re-up, take a look. Definitely
not a scam.
