Transcend has updated its Privacy Notice, effective June 1, 2025. Here's what's changing:
- Some terminology and section names have changed for clarity and to comply with disclosure requirements in newly applicable privacy laws.
- The minimum age for users has been raised; Services are now not intended for children under 18.
- The Notice now clarifies activities that may be considered the “selling” or “sharing” for purposes of online targeted advertising of personal information as defined by applicable law, and provides expanded rights and opt-out mechanisms accordingly; similar rights are now recognized for residents of additional US states.
- Users may request correction of their personal information and, where applicable, opt out of profiling for automated decisions with legal or significant effects.
- The right to appeal denials of privacy-related requests has been added, where required by law.
- The categories of recipients of personal information and details of regional privacy rights disclosures have been revised.
