I’m so excited to tell you that our spices are officially available for retail in the UK! Y’all can now leave behind worries about those high shipping costs from the US! So many of our lovely UK customers have waited ever so patiently for us to come closer to them and I’m thrilled the day is finally here. Our fantastic UK partner Natoora is now selling our spices alongside their incredible seasonal produce! We really couldn’t have asked for a better partner than Natoora, which has always been a champion for fresh, flavorful and seasonal produce.
We kicked off our big UK launch a few weeks ago with a Masala Block Party at the lovely Miel Bakery, with the star behind our latest collab masala, Nadir Nahdi, and team Natoora in tow. There were chai, cookies, buttery Hawaij Masala Swirls and delicate tarte tatin featuring Natoora’s Williams pears. In the midst of it all, I served over 1000 cups of chai to folks waiting in a snaking line down the block outside Miel! It all showed me how truly special this community is and how our UK folks can really show up and show out for us! If you made it and want more, or if you couldn’t make it but want to get your hands on our spices asap (including Nadir’s beautiful savory Hawaij Masala), here are all the ways you can do that:
🔗Head to the Natoora website to pick from these specially curated spice trios that are available for shipping across the UK:
- Guntur Sannam Chilli, Pragati Turmeric, Aranya Black Pepper (the staples)
- Jodhana Cumin, Wild Heimang Sumac, Nandini Coriander (the savory ones)
- Chai Masala, Hawaij Masala, Baraka Green Cardamom (the warming ones)
⬇️Download the Natoora app to get spices and produce at your doorstep, if you live within the delivery radius
This has been a mighty feat for our operations and sales teams that have worked very hard to make it all happen! Diaspora Spice Co. began because I wanted to reimagine a very broken spice trade that British colonizers left behind in India and so many other South Asian countries. Bringing our spices to the UK feels like a serious full circle moment - it's a big step forward, and there's so much more to come!
